Access to the waterfall is only by foot. To get there starting from the Troodos square and follow a downhill route through the old street of Platres – Troodos and reach the point where the river passes by. From there on follow the nature trail that is parallel to the river. The trail itself offers a variety of vegetation mostly of pine trees, plane trees and ivies. In parts of the river with ponds one can see trouts. The plashing of water along with the birds singing and the trees rustle create a majestic experience for the visitor.

The trail continues for about another half hour, alongside the river with continuous intersections and it ends at a location called Psilo Dentro (Tall Tree), which is slightly above Platres. This location is a second starting point for the Caledonia Waterfall, for the ones who prefer ascending the mountain.
