Symbol of fight and sacrifice, one of the historic monuments in Cyprus, which refers to the agonists of EOKA 1955-59, Andrea Karyo, Ilia Papakyriakou, Foti Pitta, and Christo Samara. The four agonists fell heroically fighting the British conquerors, during the fight of Barn in September of 1958. In the place of sacrifice, they have erected statues as well as a museum in which items and photos from their life and action are exhibited. Every year the annual memorial of the four agonists is followed by a brilliant celebration of the “New Hani of Gravias”, as they characterize the humble barn.
